Ruaha Park
With its vast savannah dotted with majestic baobab trees, rolling hills with rocky outcrops and palm-fringed river valleys, Ruaha is a place of beauty.
Escape
Its lifeblood is the Grande Rivière Ruaha, which flows along the eastern boundary in a torrent during the high rainy season, but then reduces to a multitude of precious pools.
Greater kudu fans have come to the right place. Ruaha Park is one of only two parks where both roan and black antelope live; the latter is easier to spot than anywhere else.
550 species of birds can be observed alongside Tanzanian endemics such as the yellow-collared lovebird and the ashy choucador. Lions are also present in large numbers.
