Escape
The mountain itself is a splendid spectacle. However, the climb is possible for anyone in good health and determination.
The trek is organized by specialized companies, the only ones authorized to do so, with a mountain guide accustomed to mountaineering.
There are several routes to the summit: the Rongai and Marangu are the easiest, while Machame and Shira are the most difficult and take the longest. It takes 6 days round trip.
Kilimanjaro can be climbed all year round, but the best time is during the dry season from July to September and January to March. It’s worth noting that, as with any high mountain, the weather can change rapidly, so it’s important to be well prepared.
